Oxford Starlight

Oxford Starlight (Levels 1–6) is one of our most recommended programs for young learners beginning their English journey.

From first words to confident conversation and reading skills, this carefully structured series supports children at every stage of development. Lessons are interactive, engaging, and designed specifically for online learning, helping students stay focused while building real language ability.

In addition to English skills, students explore topics about the world around them, expanding both language and knowledge at the same time. Many children can study with Oxford Starlight for years and finish with a strong, well-rounded foundation in English.

Oxford Starlight 1 – Level A1 (Beginner)

Oxford Starlight 1 introduces young learners to English at CEFR A1 level, building their first foundation in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students learn basic sentence structures such as to be, simple present tense, possessives, and basic question forms. Vocabulary focuses on everyday topics including family, school, numbers, colors, food, animals, and daily routines. Through fun stories, songs, chants, and interactive games, children develop confidence using simple English in meaningful situations. This level creates a strong phonics base and helps students begin forming complete sentences independently.

Oxford Starlight 2 – Level A1 (Elementary)

At CEFR A1 level, Oxford Starlight 2 strengthens core grammar while expanding communication skills. Students build confidence using the present simple, present continuous, there is/are, prepositions, and basic past forms. Vocabulary topics include hobbies, sports, places in town, weather, and descriptive language. Engaging stories and structured activities help students move from short phrases to more complete conversations. The balance of games and skill-based exercises ensures that learning remains enjoyable while steadily improving reading comprehension and writing accuracy.

Oxford Starlight 3 – Level A2
(Pre-Intermediate)

Oxford Starlight 3 moves learners into CEFR A2 level, encouraging greater independence in communication. Students develop their understanding of past simple, comparatives and superlatives, adverbs of frequency, and modal verbs such as can and must. Vocabulary expands to include travel, health, technology, and cultural topics. Story-based units promote critical thinking and discussion, while structured grammar practice builds accuracy. At this level, students begin expressing opinions and describing experiences more confidently in both speaking and writing.

Oxford Starlight 4 – Level A2
(Strong Elementary)

At high A2 level, Oxford Starlight 4 deepens grammar knowledge and increases fluency. Students work with future forms (will and going to), past continuous, present perfect (introduction), conditionals (zero/first), and more complex sentence structures. Vocabulary themes broaden to include environmental topics, science, biographies, and global cultures. Interactive tasks and project work encourage real communication, while reading passages become longer and more detailed. This level prepares students to move beyond basic conversation into more structured, academic English.

Oxford Starlight 5 – Level B1 (Intermediate)

Oxford Starlight 5 develops students at CEFR B1 level, helping them communicate clearly and confidently in a variety of situations. Grammar focus includes full use of present perfect, past continuous vs. past simple, first and second conditionals, relative clauses, and modal verbs for advice and obligation. Vocabulary covers social issues, travel, media, inventions, and world knowledge topics. Through engaging stories, debates, role-plays, and writing tasks, students improve fluency while strengthening grammar accuracy. By the end of this level, learners can express opinions, explain ideas, and write structured paragraphs.

Oxford Starlight 6 – Level B1+ / Approaching B2
(Upper-Intermediate Foundation)

Oxford Starlight 6 brings students to strong B1 and approaching B2 level, preparing them for more advanced academic English. Students consolidate complex grammar such as advanced conditionals, reported speech, passive voice, and perfect tenses. Vocabulary expands into abstract topics including global challenges, culture, technology, and future trends. Longer reading texts, structured writing tasks, and discussion-based activities help students think critically and express ideas clearly. While lessons remain engaging and interactive, this level focuses strongly on preparing learners for secondary school English and higher-level exams.
